A. I am king AD, real name Alexander Inyang. I hail from Akwaibom state, Nigeria.

Q. What style of music are you doing right now and what stirred up the passion of music in you?
A. Afro music and Hi-life music. Natural things and daily happenings inspire me.


Q. When did you begin your music career and how has the journey been so far?
A. I began singing 2010. 2020 makes me ten years.




Q. What do you think are the problems upcoming artistes are facing in the music industry, Nigeria?
A. Moral support, funds and location.



Q. What do you think can be done to solve these problems you highlighted above?
A. Seminars, round table discussions and internet can bridge the gap.
Q. Mention few things you think upcoming artistes can do to come to limelight?
A. Promotion with the right channel and packaging.


Q. What role can government play to support the music industry, most especially the upcoming artistes?
A. Fund, support and platforms that would shoot them out like Calabar and Port Harcourt festival.


Q. Are you a signed under a management/ label or are you the one pushing your music by yourself?
A. Self push.


Q. In the area of promotion, what are the challenges involved?
A. Funds and good packaging of products for attractiveness to fans.



Q. How do you fund or source for fund concerning your music?
A. Writing of proposal and submitting it to the appropriate quarters. Also, creation of personal giggs/shows to sell tickets and gain profits. And again, album fundraising.



Q. How has been the relationship between the upcoming artistes and the superstar in the area of support?
A. Zero support.

Q. Don’t you think that the industry should create a platform where upcoming artistes can easily get financial support/fund so as to grow the music industry fast?
A. Sure, it is necessary and should be accessible base on merit through audition.
Q. Since music is a lucrative business in Nigeria and the world at large, is there no way investors can come in?
A. Sure, investors are welcomed and would thrive in this business.



Q. As an artistes, mention some benefits you often enjoy in Nigeria?
A. Love from people especially strangers, have access to offices.


Q. Why is it that upcoming artistes don’t get endorsement from corporate brands no matter how small the deal could be? 
A. They do not believe in the starters simple.


Q. Who are your role model and mentor in the music industry?
A. Usher, Timaya and Flavour.



Q. Mention five artistes that inspire you with their music?
A. Usher, Timaya and Runtown.



Q. How often do you write songs and what gives you inspiration when writing your songs?
A. Everyday of my life.
Q. When you a producer gives you a beat to voice over, would you prefer to freestyle on the beat or you will write the lyrics first then voice over?
A. I'll prefer to write but if it is tight schedule, I could freestyle very well too.



Q. What are the challenges you are having with producers when working on a music project?
A. They don't give me the needed and appropriate mix of my voice or sound.



Q. What is your definition of music?
A. An appealing sound, pleasant to my ears and others.


Q. What are the qualities of good music?
A. Good beat, good vocals and clarity in mix.


Q. Do you think Nigerian artistes are still producing good music?
A. Yes of course.



Q. Where do you see yourself in the next ten years in the music industry?
A. To be known worldwide and grasp of the international market as an A-list Artist.

A. Usher Raymond, Timaya and Rudeboy.



Q. Have you faced any form of sexual violence/ sexual harassment before?
A. Not at all.



Q. Tell us about your upbringing? 
A. It wasn't Rosy but it was a whole lot of experiences and life lessons.


Q. While growing up, did you by any chance enjoy parental love?
A. Of course yes.

Q. Did your parents like your decision in becoming a musician and are they giving all the necessary support you need?
A. Yes they did and they supported me at the onset.


Q. Did you by any chance have sex education at home?
A. Not at all.


Q. If yes, how often did you have sex education at home?
A. Nil.


Q. Do you think it is difficult to control sexual urge?
A. No, it is not difficult.


Q. What is the root of domestic violence against women?
A. Lack of sex education.

Q. What is your say on Children regarding sex and sexuality?
A. They should get sex education early in life.



Q. In which area parents are not doing enough regarding sex and sexuality?
A. Hiding the names of sexual parts of the body.



Q. Any advice for the government regarding sex and sexuality?
A. They should start sex education or introduce it as a subject in schools.



Q. Does the media has a role to play regarding sex and sexuality?
A. Yes, it does.
Q. Do you think religious leaders are doing enough regarding sex education?
A. Yes they are trying.



Q. Do you think it is healthy for women to go into prostitution?
A. Not at all.



Q. We have a lot of youths delving into pornographic business in Nigeria, what is your thought on this? 
A. They are not gainfully employed. I don't blame them.


Q. What role do you think we can play as individual or collectively as a society to create a sexually disciplined Nigeria?
A. Sex education at the grassroot, sensitize the grassroot.



Q. Who is your role model regarding sexual discipline?
A. None.


Q. What is your view about sex? 
A. Sex is not a bad thing but should be done the right way and at the right time.


Q. What is your view about sex education?
A. Very necessary. It will go a long way.

A. Keep discovering, keep upgrading and be humble.
